Bladder cancer symptoms can vary from person to person, and sometimes people with bladder cancer do not have any symptoms at all. However, some common symptoms of bladder cancer include:
-
Blood in urine: This is the most common symptom of bladder cancer, and it may cause urine to appear bright red or cola-colored. Sometimes, the urine appears normal, and blood is detected on a lab test.
-
Frequent urination: This is when you feel like you need to go to the bathroom more often than usual.
-
Painful urination: This is when you experience pain or a burning sensation when you urinate.
-
Back pain: This is when you experience pain in your lower back.
Other symptoms of bladder cancer may include feeling as if you need to go right away, even when your bladder isnt full, having trouble urinating or having a weak urine stream, and having to get up to urinate many times during the night. When the cancer has grown large or spread beyond the bladder to other parts of the body, symptoms may include being unable to urinate, lower back pain on one side of the body, pain in the abdomen, bone pain or tenderness, unintended weight loss and loss of appetite, swelling in the feet, and feeling tired. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is important to see a doctor to determine the cause and receive appropriate treatment.
