Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are swollen veins in the lower anus and rectum. Symptoms of piles may include:

  • Itching or irritation in the anal region.
  • Pain or discomfort.
  • Swelling around the anus.
  • Bleeding after passing a stool.
  • Feeling like you still need to poo after going to the toilet.
  • Mucus in your underwear or on toilet paper after wiping your bottom.
  • Lumps around your anus.
  • Pain while sitting or at other times.
  • Thrombosed hemorrhoid symptoms may include serious pain, itching, and bleeding.

If you experience severe pain that is always there and so bad its hard to think or talk, you cannot sleep, it's very hard to move, get out of bed, go to the bathroom, wash or dress, you should seek immediate medical attention.
