In fantasy football, waiver claims are bids to claim an undrafted player to a team. Waivers put temporary freezes on unclaimed players, giving everyone a chance to make a claim on them. When this time period ends, all waiver claims are processed and the manager with the highest waiver priority gets the player. The waiver order and pool of players can reset each week. If more than one owner claims the same player on the waiver wire, then the fantasy league will automatically choose which team gets the player based on the waiver order. Typically, a player that is claimed is awarded to the team with the worst record, but other systems for settling multiple claims on a player exist. Once the waiver claims are made, players who were not claimed become "free agents" and can be added by any owner on a first come, first served basis up until players lock again when their next game kicks off.
