The 313 area code is a telephone area code of the North American Numbering Plan serving Detroit and most of its closest suburbs in Wayne County, Michigan. It was one of the original 86 area codes created by AT&T and the Bell System in 1947. The 313 area code covers Detroit, its enclaves Hamtramck and Highland Park, and the suburbs of Allen Park, Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, Ecorse, the Grosse Pointes, Inkster, Lincoln Park, Redford Township, River Rouge and Taylor.
