The TSA has a list of items that are not allowed on a plane, including aerosol insecticide, alcoholic beverages over 140 proof, and airbrush make-up machines. Sharp objects, sporting goods and athletic equipment, self-defense items, gel-type candles, and large quantities of alcohol (more than 3.4 ounces) are also prohibited. Liquid or gel food items larger than 3.4 oz are not allowed in carry-on bags and should be placed in checked bags if possible. Firearms, ammunition, and fireworks are prohibited, as are all knives and safety razors (including pocket knives and Swiss Army knives) . In general, anything shaped like a weapon (mainly a club) is prohibited, including equipment like baseball and cricket bats, golf clubs, hockey and lacrosse sticks, and even walking sticks. Solid foods containing no liquid or cream elements are permitted on board as carry-on items, but fresh fruits and vegetables may be restricted when traveling to and from certain destinations due to the risk of spreading invasive pests.
