PayPal offers several payment methods that you can use to make purchases or send money. Here are the payment methods that you can use with PayPal:

Bank account: You can link your bank account to your PayPal account and use it to make purchases or send money.

Credit or debit card: You can add your Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express card to your PayPal account and use it to make purchases or send money.

PayPal balance: If you have a PayPal balance account, you can use the balance to make purchases or send money.

Backup payment method: For some payments, when your selected or preferred payment method isn’t available, PayPal will use your backup payment method instead. You can choose your backup payment method when you add a payment method to your PayPal account.

In-store checkout: You can use PayPal to shop in stores with various payment methods. You can choose your preferred payment method, then your backup payment method. You can use any payment method combination of your PayPal balance, bank account, credit card, or debit card. You can use a smartphone to update your payment preferences in the store, but its best to do it ahead of time to help checkout go more quickly.

Automatic payments: You can set up automatic payments with PayPal using your preferred payment method. Your preferred payment method for an automatic payment agreement will be used for transactions with that seller. If you have available balance in a linked PayPal Balance account, that balance may be used before your preferred payment method.

Other payment methods: PayPal also offers other payment methods such as PayPal Credit, instant bank transfer, and eCheque.
Please note that you need to add a payment method (such as a card) to your PayPal account before you can select it as a preferred way to pay. Changing your preferred payment method won’t affect automatic payments. You can update your payment preference directly on the automatic payment.
