Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a bacteria called Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It is spread through sexual fluids, including vaginal fluid and semen, and can be contracted through unprotected sex, including vaginal, anal, and oral sex. In males, gonorrhea infection usually starts in the urethra, the tube where urine exits the body. Gonorrhea can cause symptoms such as burning when urinating, painful or swollen testicles, and white, yellow, or green discharge from the penis. However, often gonorrhea doesnt cause symptoms, making it easy to infect partners unknowingly. Gonorrhea can be treated with antibiotics, but if left untreated, it can cause serious and long-lasting problems, including infertility.
