what causes hip dips

Hip dips are the slight indentation of either side of the outer thigh, which makes it look like there’s a dip that curves inward at the top of the thigh and below the hips. They are caused by genetics and the shape and structure of the hip bones, or the pelvis and top of the femur. The extent to which hip dips are visible can be attributed to a persons bony anatomical structure, not weight. Hip dips are a normal part of the body structure and not caused by excessive weight, and they might not be the shape you want in your hips. Building muscle or losing fat will not get rid of hip dips since they are controlled by the shape of the skeleton, muscles, and fat distribution, which cannot be changed. However, exercising to build muscle mass and lose body fat can help minimize their appearance.
