Cats see best in shades of blue and green, with blue-violet hues being the easiest for them to detect. They also can perceive yellow to some extent, but their ability to see red, orange, and some warm colors is very limited or absent, often appearing as gray or muted tones to them. Their color vision is less vivid than that of humans because they have fewer cone cells in their eyes. Overall, blue and green colors stand out most clearly to cats, while reds and oranges are not easily distinguishable.
