More than 160 countries celebrate Labor Day and have May 1 as a holiday. For most countries, "Labour Day" is synonymous with, or linked with, International Workers Day, which occurs on May 1. Some countries vary the actual date of their celebrations so that the holiday occurs on a Monday close to May 1. Some countries have a holiday at or around this date, but it is not a 'Labour Day' celebration. Other countries celebrate Labor Day on different dates. Here is a list of countries that celebrate Labor Day on different dates:
- Bahamas: first Friday in June
- Japan: November 23 (Labor Thanksgiving Day)
- Trinidad and Tobago: June 19
- Jamaica: May 23
It is worth noting that Labor Day is not a global holiday and is not celebrated in every country.
