Tay-K, whose real name is Taymor Travon McIntyre, is an American rapper and convicted murderer. He was found guilty of murder in July 2019 and sentenced to 55 years in prison. The case stems from a July 2016 home invasion in Mansfield, Texas, that left one man dead and another injured. Tay-K was accused of participating in the botched robbery that led to the death of 21-year-old Ethan Walker. He was 16 years old at the time of the incident. Tay-Ks career as a rapper is far from incidental to the case. The prosecution presented his song "The Race" and a printout of its lyrics as evidence, along with photos from social media and album covers that show Tay-K with guns. "The Race" was released online the same day he was apprehended by United States marshals after three months on the run in 2017. The song included boasts from the rapper about violent crime and eluding law enforcement, and its video featured a baby-faced Tay-K posing with a handgun next to his own wanted poster. Tay-K is also facing a capital murder charge in Bexar County, Texas, where he allegedly shot and killed a 23-year-old photographer named Mark Anthony Saldivar.
