General Requirements
- Your current driver's license

Renewal Methods and Specifics
In-Person Renewal
- Bring all the documents listed above
- Fill out a renewal application (can be done online ahead of time or at the DDS center)
- Have your photo taken
- Pass a vision exam if you are 64 or older
- Surrender your current license

- License is not suspended, canceled, or revoked
- No name change since last renewal
- Last renewal was in person at a DDS center
- Have a credit or debit card to pay the $27 online fee
You will need to create or log into a DDS online account and provide your Social Security number, birth date, license number, and issuance date to renew online
Renewal by Mail
Available only if:
- You are out of Georgia for military duty, school, or temporary work, or physically incapacitated
- You have not changed your name
- You last renewed in person at a DDS center
