Jehovahs Witnesses do not celebrate most holidays or events that honor people who aren't Jesus. This includes birthdays, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, and Halloween. They believe that many holidays and celebrations violate Bible principles, and therefore choose not to participate in them. Instead, they focus on the observance of the Memorial of Christ's Death, which is their most important and solemn event. This observance is also known as the Lord's Evening Meal, the Last Supper, or the Lord's Supper. The purposes of the Memorial evening meal are to remember Jesus and show gratitude for the sacrifice he made on behalf of humanity.
