A boiler is a closed container that houses water or other forms of liquid, which is heated for the purpose of producing vapor or steam. The function of a boiler is to either produce hot water or steam. Hot water boilers heat water for the purpose of domestic or commercial heating and hot water supply. Steam boilers generate steam in order to power turbines for power generation and various other industrial heating applications. Boilers are capable of heating the air in your home, keeping a hot tub or pool warm, steam cleaning carpets, and even heating the water that comes out of your shower or faucet. Boilers provide radiant heat, which warms objects in a room. The primary difference between a boiler and furnace is the manner of operation. The boiler heats water or any liquid inside the tank or container to produce the needed warmth. It will push hot water using a system of pipes running through the property. The hot water heats the pipes, and from there, the heat will warm the rooms.
