Daedalus designed a Labyrinth to hold the Minotaur, a creature with a human body and a bulls head. The Labyrinth was so complex that it was said to be impossible to find one's way through, especially for the Minotaur. The design of the Labyrinth was so ingenious that only Daedalus could find his way out, and hence could set the Minotaur free, but he chose not to do so.
