Traditionally, the grooms family pays for the following expenses:
- The rehearsal dinner
- The honeymoon, including flights, hotels, and activities
- The groom and groomsmens outfits, including the tux, shoes, tie, socks, and more, if they are willing to contribute
- Groomsmens gifts
- Some of the floral expenses associated with the wedding party, including the brides bouquet, the boutonnieres of the groom and groomsmen, and the corsages for honored guests
- Reception entertainment, such as a live band, DJ, or photo booth
- Alcohol at the reception, in some parts of the country
Its important to note that these are traditional expectations, and modern couples may choose to split costs differently or cover expenses themselves. Its recommended that both sets of parents and the couple discuss how much everyone can contribute and what everyone plans to cover.
