Danny Masterson was found guilty of two counts of rape and not guilty on one count in his recent trial. The evidence presented against him included the testimonies of three women who claimed he sexually assaulted them at his Hollywood home between 2001 and 2003. The women, who were all members of the Church of Scientology at the time, accused Masterson of using his prominence in the church to avoid consequences for his actions.
During the trial, prosecutors argued that Masterson had drugged his accusers before assaulting them, although there was no toxicology evidence to support this claim. The jury, consisting of seven women and five men, reached their verdict after deliberating for seven days spread over two weeks. Mastersons attorney maintained his innocence, stating that there was no evidence against the actor.
The two women whose cases had insufficient evidence and statutes of limitations were not included in the criminal charges against Masterson. However, he was later sued by four of his sexual assault accusers in civil court.
