Several Sacred Heart University students and an Uber driver were seriously injured in a two-car crash near the Sacred Heart University campus in Fairfield, Connecticut, on September 29, 2023. The crash occurred around 12:04 a.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Park Avenue. A black Audi driven by a Sacred Heart student lost control and hit an Uber with four other students and a male driver. The Audi appeared to hit a curb, which pushed it into the other lane, the westbound lane, and the crash occurred. The male Sacred Heart University student who was in the Audi is in critical condition at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, while the Uber driver and four female Sacred Heart University students were transported to Bridgeport Hospital. Two of the students are in critical condition, and the other two are in stable condition. Sacred Heart University canceled classes on Friday morning so students could attend a prayer service.
