During Travis Scotts 2021 Astroworld Festival, a fatal crowd crush occurred on the first night of the two-day festival. Eight people died the night of, and two more died in the hospital over the following days. The festival had already been dealing with crowd control issues on the day prior to Scott's concert, but the fatal crush occurred on the day of — and during — Scott's concert itself. Despite the initial wave of criticism and backlash, no criminal charges were filed.
In a separate incident, dozens were injured at Travis Scott's concert in Rome's Circus Maximus. A 14-year-old climbed onto a nearby hill to see the concert and fell about 4 meters (around 13 feet) .
It is important to note that the tragedy at the Astroworld Festival was a unique and tragic incident that is not representative of all Travis Scott concerts.
