A 16-year-old student named Desmond Holly opened fire with a revolver on the school grounds, critically wounding two students before sustaining a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Holly later died from his injuries. The shooting caused a lockdown of the school, with over 900 students kept in classrooms while law enforcement cleared the premises. Authorities reported that the suspect appeared to have been radicalized by an extremist network. The incident is considered the 47th school shooting in the United States in 2025.
