Carol Peletier is a character from The Walking Dead series and comic storylines, portrayed by Melissa McBride in the series. Carol is introduced in the third episode of the first season of the television series as a meek housewife and mother of Sophia at the survival camp in Atlanta, Georgia. Her arc in the television series was described as a "heros journey" by executive producer Scott M. Gimple, having made many difficult decisions in order to survive.
Carol was originally supposed to be killed in the episode "Killer Within", but the producers eventually decided against it. In the series finale, Carol got the perfect ending, and it was a satisfying one for her character. Therefore, Carol did not die in the series finale.
