Claudia is a character in the novel and film "Interview with the Vampire." In the story, Claudia is an orphan who is turned into a vampire by Lestat and Louis in New Orleans when she is only five years old. In the film, Claudia is portrayed by Kirsten Dunst. Claudias story is told in the first book of "The Vampire Chronicles" series, "Interview with the Vampire".
In the story, Claudia and Louis travel to Paris and meet the vampire Armand, who presides over a coven of other vampires. It is here where Claudia runs into trouble and meets her demise.
In the TV adaptation of "Interview with the Vampire," Claudia was portrayed by Bailey Bass in season 1, but the role was recast for season 2. Delainey Hayles will play Claudia in season 2 due to "a variety of unforeseen circumstances" that prevented Bass from returning to the show.
