On August 27, 2023, Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Daewood Davis suffered a scary injury during the fourth quarter of a preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was hit by a Jaguars linebacker and was seen lying motionless on the field while being attended to by medical personnel. Davis was then carted off the field and taken to a Jacksonville hospital for further evaluation.
Fortunately, Davis was released from the hospital the following morning and was reported to have movement in all extremities. However, on August 29, just two days after the injury, the Dolphins decided to waive Davis, ending his time with the team.
