Ekaterina "Katia" Alexandrovna Gordeeva is a Russian figure skater who, together with her late husband, Sergei Grinkov, was the 1988 and 1994 Olympic Champion and four-time World Champion (1986, 1987, 1989, 1990) in pair skating. On November 20, 1995, while rehearsing a number with their choreographer Marina Zueva, Sergei suffered a fatal heart attack. After Grinkovs death, Gordeeva continued performing as a singles skater and returned to Stars on Ice as a solo skater in 1996 and toured with the show every year until 2000. She took time off to give birth to her second daughter, Elizaveta Ilinichna Kulik, in June 2001. Gordeeva has returned to the tour as a guest star many times but has never returned to full-time touring. She has since found new love with fellow skater Ilia Kulik, who won a gold medal at the Nagano Olympics in 1998. The two made the relationship public in 1999, and they were married shortly after the birth of their daughter. The couple divorced in 2016.
