Halsey is currently unable to release a new album because her record label is not allowing her to do so. This restriction comes after the commercial performance of her 2024 album, "The Great Impersonator," which, despite selling 100,000 copies in its first week and debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, was considered underperforming compared to her previous successes. Halsey expressed frustration that her label wants her to achieve sales comparable to her 2020 album "Manic," which went double platinum, but she feels she cannot replicate that consistently. Despite this, her Back to Badlands Tour from October 2025 to February 2026 is expected to be the highest-selling tour of her career. Additionally, Halsey has been dealing with significant health challenges, including diagnoses of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), lupus, and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder since 2022. She had her son in 2021 and has been managing these illnesses while continuing her music career. In summary, Halsey is alive, actively touring, but currently blocked by her label from releasing new music due to the commercial reception of her last album and is managing serious health issues privately while preparing her tour.
