Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara suffered a non-contact injury to his left leg during a game against Michigan State. He appeared to injure his leg on a first-quarter scramble and was helped off the field by trainers. Broadcast cameras later showed McNamara struggling to put weight on the leg while on the sidelines. McNamara did not return to the game and was replaced by backup quarterback Deacon Hill. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz addressed McNamaras injury in his postgame press conference, but couldnt provide any major updates. "Well know more about Cades status early next week," Ferentz said. However, it was later reported that McNamara will likely miss the remainder of the season with a left knee injury. McNamara was carted off the field with his knee wrapped and appeared in street clothes on crutches along the Iowa sideline in the second half.
