Josh Hartnett is an actor who rose to fame in the early 2000s and was once referred to as the next Tom Cruise. However, his fast-paced acting career came to a halt in the mid-2000s after starring in Lucky Number Slevin with Morgan Freeman and Bruce Willis. Since then, Hartnetts career has remained relatively quiet, with his last major role being as Ethan Chandler in the Showtime series Penny Dreadful, in which he appeared in 27 episodes from 2014 to 2016. Hartnett has not worked on major movies and shows since Penny Dreadful, but he has taken on roles in smaller productions during his unofficial hiatus. Hartnett returned to Hollywood in 2021 for Guy Ritchies heist thriller Wrath of Man, and he will star in the upcoming film Operation Fortune. Hartnett understandably wanted to seek time out of the limelight in order to focus on his family life.
