Mangosuthu Buthelezi, a veteran South African politician and traditional minister of the Zulu nation, died at the age of 95. He was a controversial figure during the apartheid liberation struggle and was the founder of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in 1975, leading it until 2019. He served as the democratic South Africas first Minister of Home Affairs from 1994 to 2004. Buthelezi was laid to rest in a state funeral in South Africa.
