In the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Mechamaru, also known as Kokichi Muta, was a second-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High. He used Ultimate Mechamaru as his proxy to attend school due to his sickly and fragile body. Mechamarus fate is a subject of debate among fans, but it is generally accepted that he died during a fierce battle with Mahito.
During the battle, Mechamaru initially believed that he had won, but it was later revealed that Mahito had faked his death and attacked Mechamaru, ultimately defeating him. Mechamaru's death is considered tragic, reflecting the unpredictable nature of real life. While Mechamaru was always technically dead as an animated cursed corpse, his human counterpart, Kokichi Muta, had an unfulfilled life.
