Ricky Hatton is a former professional boxer from Manchester, England. After his career was put on a long hiatus, rumors of a comeback continued to circulate the media over the next several years. In 2011, Hatton announced his retirement from the sport, but in 2012, more than three years after his last fight, he confirmed his comeback. However, a loss to Vyacheslav Senchenko in his first match back prompted Hatton to immediately announce his final retirement.
In addition to his boxing career, Hatton has been open about his struggles with mental health. After his second-round knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao in 2009, he revealed that he almost attempted to take his own life and went into a deep depression, drinking heavily and sometimes until blacking out. Hatton has also been referred to by boxing fans as "Ricky Fatton" because he was known to allow himself to weigh as much as 175 to 180 pounds (35 to 40 pounds over his fight weight) when not in training for a fight.
As of September 2023, there is no recent news about Ricky Hattons current activities or projects.
