Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was involved in a horrific car accident while travelling from Delhi to Roorkee on December 30, 2022. He sustained multiple injuries to his head, back, and feet after miraculously surviving the horrific car accident. Pant underwent surgery for ligament tears on his right knee and is currently recovering. In his first public statement, Pant thanked the fans, BCCI, and medical team for their support. He also singled out two individuals who rescued him after the tragic car crash and ensured he got to the hospital safely. Pant has shared a couple of photos in which the injured cricketer can be seen walking on crutches. He is expected to remain out of action for the entire 2023 season and will miss the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the 2023 World Cup.
