what happened to ruby in sex education season 3

In season 3 of Sex Education, Ruby Matthews starts dating Otis after they hook up at a party. However, their relationship becomes difficult when Ruby tells Otis she loves him, and he doesnt say it back because he is still hung up on Maeve. Otis and Ruby eventually break up, and they dont even end up staying good friends. Rubys character undergoes a transformation in season 4, becoming a standout character and surpassing the main trio of Otis, Maeve, and Eric.
