In June 2025, another flotilla vessel, the "Madleen," was intercepted and seized by Israeli forces in international waters near Gaza after reports of drone harassment with irritant spray and subsequent boarding. The passengers were taken to Israel, with some deported and others contesting their detention. Activists, including Greta Thunberg, were involved and described the operation as harsh and abusive.
In July 2025, another flotilla ship named "Handala" was boarded and seized by Israeli forces before entering Gaza territorial waters, and its crew was arrested.
Additionally, in September 2025, the Global Sumud Flotilla, another humanitarian mission including activists like Greta Thunberg, reported drone attacks on their vessels near Tunisia. While organizers claimed drone strikes caused fires on their boats, Tunisian authorities challenged these claims, suggesting explosions originated internally, and investigations were ongoing.
