VeggieTales is an American Christian media franchise created by Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki under Big Idea Entertainment. The series sees fruit and vegetable characters retelling Christian stories from the Bible, with episodes presenting comedy, life lessons according to a biblical worldview. The franchise was created in the early 1990s while Vischer was testing animation software as a medium for childrens videos.

Due to bankruptcy concerns from a lawsuit, Vischer lost control over VeggieTales in 2004. The remains of his business were bought out and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and Vischer spent a lot of time waiting for ideas to come. In 2002, "Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie" was released, and Vischer thought it was going to be a hit, but it wasn't. After the movie, came a lawsuit, which cost Vischer and Big Idea Productions $14 million.

In 2019, the popular animated Christian show made a comeback with 18 brand-new episodes, after it came to an end in 2004 with Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber's tagline: "Remember kids, God made you special and he loves you very much." The goal with the new series is to go back to the feel of the classic 'Veggies' since Vischer was involved.

VeggieTales in the City is leaving Netflix in September 2023, two seasons of VeggieTales in the City were released the following year after.
