According to the search results, the Vikram lander was a part of the Chandrayaan 2 mission launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to explore the south pole of the moon. Unfortunately, the lander lost communication with the ground station during its descent on September 7, 2019, and its exact location was unknown for some time. However, NASAs Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) found the lander's crash site in December 2019.
As for the current status of the Vikram lander, it has been put to sleep along with the Pragyan rover due to the harsh lunar nighttime, which started on September 2, 2023. The lander and rover rely on solar power, and the lack of sunlight during the lunar night can cause the temperature to drop drastically, making it difficult for them to function. However, the lander might wake up again on September 22, 2023, after the lunar night ends.
