If a Tatkal waiting list ticket does not get confirmed or RAC, it will automatically get cancelled and the passenger will receive a refund. The refund amount will be credited to the customers account after deducting the clerkage charges through the system automatically. The refund rules for Tatkal tickets are different from those for regular tickets. For instance, no refund shall be granted on confirmed Tatkal tickets. However, a flat refund of 25% of the total fare charged on the ticket, excluding Tatkal charges, may be granted on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal tickets which are presented for cancellation up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train. Thereafter, no refund will be granted on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal tickets except under certain conditions.
