5G UW is a term used to describe Verizons Ultra Wideband 5G network. It is a marketing term used by Verizon to identify one type of its 5G network, which is its fastest 5G service available to millions of people around the U.S. . The 5G UW network is available on all compatible iPhones and Android devices connected to Verizon's 5G network and can be distinguished by a 5G UW or 5G UWB sign in the status bar. The 5G UW network is Verizon's version of high-band "mmWave" (millimeter wave) and mid-band 5G. It is sometimes referred to as 5G UWB. When you use Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband, you may not get the same band each time, and speeds vary, but it's still known as "5G". Other carriers have their own marketing terms to describe their different 5G implementations, such as T-Mobile's 5G UC and AT&T's 5G+ .
