A 3-way switch is a type of electrical switch that allows you to control a light or electrical fixture from two separate locations. It is commonly used in scenarios such as having switches at both the top and bottom of a stairway, or next to doors in a room with two entry points
. The functionality of a 3-way switch is such that when both switches align in the same position, the circuit completes, illuminating the light. Toggling one switch changes the current’s path, breaking the circuit and extinguishing the light.
