A CCP certification is an HR accreditation that allows individuals to become a certified compensation professional (CCP) . It is a specialized designation that demonstrates that the individual possesses the essential knowledge to integrate compensation programs with business strategy, design, and administer base and variable pay programs, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Obtaining a CCP certification signifies that the recipient has successfully completed a wide-ranging curriculum in the fundamentals of compensation management. The certification has a work experience requirement of more than two years but does not require a two-year Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree. Candidates for CCP certification must pass ten exams that cover the knowledge and skills required of compensation professionals, including job analysis, base pay administration, market pricing, variable pay, accounting, quantitative analysis, and regulatory compliance. The CCP designation assesses strategic and functional competence in rewards management, with the primary focus on compensation.
