A chauffeur is a person employed to drive a motor vehicle, especially a luxury vehicle such as a large sedan or a limousine. The term "chauffeur" comes from the French term for stoker because the earliest automobiles, like their railroad and sea vessel counterparts, were steam-powered and required the driver to stoke the engine. Early petrol/gasoline-powered motor cars, before the advent of electric ignition, were ignited by hot tubes' in the cylinder head which had to be pre-heated before the engine would start. Hence the term chauffeur which, in this context, means something like "heater-upper".

While all chauffeurs are drivers, not all drivers are chauffeurs. A chauffeur is an experienced, licensed professional who provides personalized service to passengers, aiming to provide a journey that is not just safe but also characterized by elegance and sophistication. They focus on providing the best quality of transport according to the taste of each and every client, and their services go beyond just transportation. They ensure that the ride is comfortable, safe, and stress-free for the passenger, and they provide each passenger with a personalized experience, offering numerous amenities such as drinks and music. For chauffeurs, the passengers always come first and ensuring the best service is the goal.
