A finesse shot in FIFA is a refined and delicate curly shot that has more accuracy than power. It is usually curled and taken with the inside of the foot. The aim of a finesse shot is to widen the angles in play and curl the ball around the goalkeeper, usually into a corner of the goal out of reach. Finesse shots are performed by using the outside of the foot to wrap around the ball and curl it around the goalkeeper. To perform a finesse shot in FIFA 23, the following button combinations are used:

- Playstation: R1+O
- PC Keyboard: D
- Nintendo Switch: R+A
Finesse shots need to be performed with the left analog stick for direction and require precise timing for a successful finish. It is important to note that low driven shots work better than finesse shots inside the box, while finesse shots work better from outside the box.
