A multi-point inspection is a comprehensive vehicle check that includes examining all the safety-critical components of a car to identify any faulty parts before they become significant problems. The inspection typically includes checking fluid levels and condition, signs of any leaks, condition of hoses and belts, and general condition of everything under the hood. The inspection also involves checking the condition of suspension, exhaust system, brakes, and tires underneath the vehicle. Outside the vehicle, the inspection includes checking the correct operation of lights, doors, and inspecting any visible damage for safety issues. Inside the vehicle, the inspection involves running a diagnostic scan, checking seat belts, seats, windows, and the general condition of the vehicle. The multi-point inspection is just an inspection where any issues are reported to the owner, and it is not repairing or fixing whatever the technician finds. The inspection is usually complimentary and is an easy way to keep some lighter duty maintenance in tolerance and generate additional revenue.
