In the Islamic faith, the equivalent of a priest is called an "Imam". The term "Imam" often has a broader meaning than the concept of a priest and can refer to various leadership positions within the Muslim community. An Imam can serve as a prayer leader of a mosque, a recognized religious scholarly authority, a spiritual advisor, and an expert in Islamic law. Additionally, in the Shia branch of Islam, religious teachers and leaders are called "Mullahs".
