A Pinlock visor is an anti-fog system designed to prevent fogging in motorcycle helmets, ensuring a clear and safe vision for the rider

. The Pinlock lens is made from an organic and transparent material, equipped with a silicone edge, which is locked into place between the plastic pins at both sides of the helmet visor

. The silicone edge ensures that the lens is airtight, creating a thin 'air chamber' between the Pinlock lens and the helmet visor

. This air chamber works similarly to the 'double glazing' principle, helping to maintain a fog-free vision

. Pinlock lenses are available in three different performance levels: 30, 70, and 120

. The entry-level Pinlock lens is suitable for city rides and weekend adventures, while the higher performance levels are designed for more extreme conditions, such as racetrack use

. The moisture-absorbing surface of the lens effectively attracts and stores moisture in the air, preventing fogging

. To install a Pinlock visor, you need to remove the visor from the helmet first, as most helmet manufacturers have a quick-lock visor system

. Once the visor is removed, take the Pinlock out of its packaging and check which side has the silicone edge

. Do not touch this edge and do not place the lens down on it, as it is sensitive

. Align the raised edge with the appropriate pin on the helmet visor and insert the Pinlock into the visor
