A PPTX file is a file format used for Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. It is a collection of slides where each slide can contain text, images, formatting, animations, and other media. PPTX files are stored as a compressed ZIP file, which use a bunch of other files with formatted text, images, videos, and more to open them. PPTX files were introduced in 2007 and use the Open XML standard adapted by Microsoft back in 2000. The PPTX format replaced the proprietary PPT format that PowerPoint used previously.
