A Scat Pack is a trim level for both the Dodge Charger and the Dodge Challenger. The name Scat Pack is derived from the term "scat," which means "get lost". The Scat Pack name is said to have come from the "Rat Pack" and refers to Dodges old lineup of muscle cars, including the Coronet R/T, Charger R/T, Dart GTS, and Super Bee. The Charger or Challenger cannot be a Scat Pack trim unless it can run a quarter-mile in 14 seconds or less. The Scat Pack engine found with both the Challenger and the Charger is a V8 engine that provides high caliber power and speed. In the modern Challenger and Charger lineups, the Scat Packs occupy the spaces between the R/Ts and the Hellcats.
