A snake draft is a type of draft format used in fantasy sports, particularly in fantasy football leagues. In a snake draft, each team has one pick per round, and the picks go in a specific predetermined order. After a round is over, the following round is in the reverse order of the previous round. For example, if there are 10 teams in a league, the first round would go in order from team 1 to team 10, and the second round would go in reverse order from team 10 to team 1. This format is called a "snake" draft because the order of the picks reverses back and forth between who picks first and last every round. Snake drafts are considered the "traditional" format for fantasy football leagues.
