A truck, also known as a lorry, is a motor vehicle designed to transport freight, carry specialized payloads, or perform other utilitarian work. It varies in size, power, and configuration, but the majority feature body-on- frame construction, with a cabin that is independent of the payload portion of the vehicle. Trucks can be very large and powerful and may be configured to be mounted with specialized equipment. The term "truck" was first used in 1611 to refer to the small strong wheels on ships' cannon carriages and has since evolved to refer to motor vehicles for carrying heavy loads
. In a more general sense, a truck can also refer to a wheeled vehicle for moving heavy articles, including various types of vehicles and wheeled frames used for transporting heavy objects
