Type A and Type B personality theory describes two contrasting personality types

. Type A individuals are outgoing, ambitious, rigidly organized, highly status-conscious, impatient, anxious, proactive, and concerned with time management. They are often high-achieving workaholics who push themselves with deadlines and hate both delays and ambivalence. People with Type A personalities experience more job-related stress and less job satisfaction

. Type A personalities are associated with high achievement, competitiveness, and impatience, among other characteristics

. They tend to base their self-worth on external achievement and may have a poor work-life balance because of their constant need to prove themselves. Type A personalities may feel more stressed or develop stress-related disorders due to their tendencies to engage in urgent and achievement-oriented behavior

. Type A personalities have often been linked to higher rates of coronary heart disease, higher morbidity rates, and other undesirable physical outcomes

. Type B individuals, on the other hand, are much more laid back and relaxed

. They are still creative and driven, but they're far less rushed with their work compared to Type A personalities. Both Type A and Type B personalities feel stressed and overwhelmed at times, but people with a Type B personality have an easier time managing their stress levels
