In fantasy football, a waiver claim is a way for team owners to select players who are not currently on a league roster. When a player is dropped from a team, they become a "waiver player" and are temporarily frozen, typically until late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning, so that every owner has a chance to enter a claim. Once the waiver claims are made, players who were not claimed become "free agents" and can be added by any owner on a first come, first served basis up until players lock again when their next game kicks off. The leagues commissioner can pick which waiver rule and waiver claim priority is used from the "Edit League Settings" page of the "Commissioner" tab. Available waiver rules include weekly waivers, continual rolling list waiver priority, and FAAB (Free Agent Acquisition Budget) waivers. In priority ranking waivers, managers are ranked from high to low to determine who wins a waiver claim. If two managers try to claim the same player, the higher priority manager wins the claim. Priority can change depending on a variety of factors such as how well a members team is performing in the standings, or how frequently a member has claimed from waivers.
